Job description

The Production Supervisor is a key hands-on position with responsibility for managing a diverse team of production employees in a PVD/DLC coating operation. The primary goal of this position is to provide the best service to customers by optimizing production schedules, properly organizing staff, and improving workflow. The best service is achieved by our people and therefore this key position has an important role to support, lead, train and inspire the production team. High quality, safety, compliance, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction ensure that the correct Ionbond™ family of coatings and services are applied. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

What do we ask?
  • Management of the production staff and production processes under instruction of the Plant Manager/Production Manager to ensure that customers products of a PVD operation are processed in an efficient manner.
  • Assistance in scheduling customer orders via the use of an ERP system.
  • Help ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in the recruitment, hiring, and training of employees.
  • Help identify employees for promotion and promote respectful relationships throughout the plant.
  • Contribute to identifying and implementation of value-adding strategies and techniques.
  • Maintain a clean environment for all workers, implementing and promoting 5S and other continuous improvement principles within the facility.
  • Compiles and analyses production records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a candidate with:
The preferred candidate will have a degree from an accredited college or university and/or three to five years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
at least a high school diploma is required
PVD coating experience a plus. 2 years of surface finishing experience and knowledge of ISO 9001 preferred
Knowledge of production planning processes and production planning skills
Excellent coaching and communication skills
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of machine controls, instrumentation, and basic machine maintenance
The preferred candidate must be able to work Night Shift, with some flexibility as needed
12-hour shift schedule working Sunday-Tuesday, every other Saturday
Proficient with PC and related software, including Microsoft Office.
The preferred candidate will be able to handle complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
Must be eligible to work in the United States, undergo a criminal background check, and pass a pre-placement physical.
