Job description

Staff Source has an opening on an afternoon shift 2pm to 10pm for a production supervisor. This is a direct hire position with our customer.

Must have 5 Years of manufacturing experience (preferably in CNC machining or stamping) and 2 years in a supervisory role.Ability to lead in a diverse work environment. Ability to communicate both in written and verbal form. Possess an understanding of plant safety and quality controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

ยท Accomplish production goals by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

ยท Coach, counsel, and discipline employees. Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing company policies and procedures.

ยท Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, resources, PPE, managing the safety and production training of all associates.

ยท Continuously monitor safety issues and implement corrective actions.

ยท Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

ยท Maintain staff by working with Human Resources to interview, orientate, and train employees. Developing personal growth opportunities of new employees.

ยท Maintain production by monitoring personnel and resources, implementing cost reductions, and implementing corrections to break downs within the process.

ยท Meet production needs by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results in end of shift reports.

ยท Maintain quality by establishing and enforcing company quality standards by monitoring, reviewing, and dispositioning of daily scrap. Maintaining and monitoring the material review area daily.

ยท Ensure operation of equipment by contacting maintenance when needed. Monitoring status of down equipment.

ยท Resolve personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions.

ยท Walk floor with other supervisors to review and communicate any issues.

ยท Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

ยท Coordinates with Engineering and monitors tooling tests.

ยท Works with Supplier, and/or other individual vendors to communicate our current needs and the prioritization of the tooling needs.

ยท Understands and initiates lean manufacturing techniques.

ยท Knowledge of kanban/pull systems.

ยท Maintains attendance program and timekeeping through the ERP system (PLEX).

ยท Work with Plant Manager and Materials Manager to Schedule and monitor all phases of the production process.

ยท Maintain all production areas and monitor equipment by utilizing the 5S philosophy.

ยท Demonstrate the ability to lead and build a team.

ยท Complete all incident reports, audits and reports as required.

ยท Effectively manage schedules and manpower to successfully achieve production requirements.

ยท Combine management and leadership skills to enhance employeeโ€™s performance, productivity, and quality.

ยท Use solid decision-making skills for discipline and other issues as they arise.

ยท Demonstrate Problem solving Skills.
