Job description

Inside the Role
Support Machining activities and problem solving in machining lines - including Cylinder Head Machining, but not excluding other Machining Dept opportunities. Work will include daily production activities; shop floor management and alignment with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement. Hand off's to and from other shifts for transparency. Active engagement with maintenance counterparts to resolve downtime issues and bring problems to close. Taking ownership of topics and bringing them to completion. Direct interface with line supervisors and hourly workforce ensuring adherence to work methods and production metrics.

Position offers a starting salary range of $90,000 - $115,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive At DTNA:
  • Provide engineering expertise in managing materials delivered from the integrated supply chain
  • Drive Continuous Improvement activities within the manufacturing area to meet and exceed operational objectives and goals
  • Provide input to improve current manufacturing process including design and development of new manufacturing processes.
  • Technical capability with knowledge of automated processes
  • Troubleshoot problems on the shop floor, develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and cycle times.
  • Audit, teach, and drive execution to the benchmark standards while acting as a catalyst for continuous improvement
  • Develop and execute projects to achieve company targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP).
  • Develop cause and effect analysis, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plan
  • Focus on reducing costs of existing product through labor/machine efficiency, scrap reduction, OEE improvements.
  • Conduct Install/qualification of tools including Measurement Systems Analysis (MCA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR), Process Stability and Capability (CP/CPK), and equipment/process matching.

Knowledge You Should Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 2-4 years of related experience
  • Good understanding of Bill of Materials, Quality ISO standards, PFMEA
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Experience in process development in an integrated team environment in Project Management, Six Sigma, LEAN
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 software tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Either experience with CNC's, robotic machining, cold forming/stamping of parts or automated systems
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and geometrical tolerances (GD&T)

Exceptional Candidates Might Have:
  • Master's degree in related field
  • Strong working knowledge of Statistical Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques
  • Proficiency with AutoCad LT
  • Knowledge of maximo and prisma
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
