Job description

Production Supervisor – Composites Manufacturing

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM Start
Pay: $25.00/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead a team of Composites Technicians in the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of precision composite components used in aerospace applications. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production, ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining a safe work environment, and driving productivity while meeting production schedules.

The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to motivate employees in a fast-paced production environment. Experience in composites, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of Composites Technicians during daily production operations. 
  • Assign work based on production schedules, staffing levels, and customer priorities. 
  • Monitor production output to ensure daily production goals and deadlines are met. 
  • Ensure employees follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. 
  • Oversee fabrication processes including cutting, shaping, bonding, sanding, trimming, and finishing composite components. 
  • Monitor inventory usage, scrap, production tracking, and material consumption. 
  • Coordinate workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. 
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and quality expectations. 
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address attendance, productivity, and performance issues. 
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production Planning to resolve manufacturing and quality concerns. 
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, and productivity. 
  • Ensure compliance with all PPE requirements, safety procedures, and housekeeping standards. 
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • 3+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, and production documentation. 
  • Experience managing production schedules and meeting manufacturing deadlines. 
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
