Requirements:

Summary of Functions:

Lead effective daily operations and develop highly skilled plant operators. Support the departmental goals of efficiency, high yields, quality production and equipment operation.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage operational employees through functional leads establishing daily objectives
  • Responsibility for frontline employees including hiring, reviews, rewards, and discipline.
  • Manage daily process, including but not limited to:
  • Establish Operational procedures (SOPs)
  • Establish work load requirements, work schedules and plan task level assignments
  • Establish training needs and certification requirements
  • Ensure safe operation
  • Maintain composure in stressful situations, making sound decisions and communicating with management team as needed.
  • Motivate employees to higher achievements.
  • Treat all employees fairly and with consistency.
  • Support the development of a process improvement program
  • Manage to KPI standards established by Operations Manager
  • Recognize trends/indicators and reacts proactively to address potential problems.
  • Ensure employees maintain industry guidelines for GMP
  • Proficiency in English required with Spanish language skills preferred
  • Computer Proficient


Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations
  • Comply with GMP’s in the plant.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.


Organizational Relationships:

Position reports to the Plant Manager. Direct reports for this position include:

Frontline departmental employees.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum A.A. with B.S. or B.A. preferred
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing company, preferably dairy operation or related
  • Proven background with safety programs and GMP
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours as required
  • Food, CPG or USDA / FDA environments
