Job description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for an Industrial Production Manager to provide supervisory and production support for Industrial Operations. During fresh pack production this position oversees production throughput and efficiency as well as supervising labor efficiency and execution of quality on the shift. This leader will be responsible for supervising personnel, ensuring a high level of employee productivity while managing departmental resources within budget limitations and effectively supporting an efficient production operation at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises operation of plant equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoots, directs and coordinates with staff to effectively correct malfunctions with equipment, through determining root cause fault identification and eliminating repeated failures.
  • Supervises activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
  • Supports operations in equipment start-up, shut down and CIP processes.
  • Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in manufacturing operations, business, logistics, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • 2 years’ experience directly related to maintenance/production supervisory with process analysis and troubleshooting experience. Two years’ experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • 2 years’ experience in food processing environment, preferably in the tomato industry, including aseptic processing as well as formulated sauce processing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and credit screen.
