We are currently seeking a Material Handler I to join our growing organization.

 General Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for day-to-day material handling operations, which includes loading, unloading and handling material within the facility to support production line.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Unload truck, carts, bins, and racks
  • Maintain the departments average orders per hour
  • Pulling/ packing/shipping
  • Read and interpret pick ticket
  • Working knowledge of parts area layout/racking
  • Audit and replenish line stock bin locations, reviewing twice daily at pre-determined times
  • Assist in daily cycle counts
  • Proactive notification of upcoming inventory shortages
  • Maintain clean and neat area of responsibility

Specific Job Requirements

  • Proven competency with RF Gun
  • Above average attendance record
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Understand FIFO practices
  • Familiar with inventory practices
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and follow directions with urgency
  • Ability to withstand exposure to hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to load and unload heavy equipment on and off trucks
  • Knowledge of safety in a warehouse environment
  • Able to work overtime as needed

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of related distribution experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess general computer skills (Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Forklift certification
  • Local candidates preferred.

  • Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions
  • May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges
  • Passing forklifts emit gas fumes
