Job Summary:
Insomniac Events is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Apparel Product Line Sr. Merchandising Manager. This role involves building and driving the strategy, design briefing, and commercialization of seasonal apparel collections while collaborating with various teams to deliver consumer-right products.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Must have experience building schedules, always keeping design and development on track.
โ€ข Product Strategy & Creation: Create consumer-right product briefs, build line plans, and guide the product creation process from initial concept to final sample approval.
โ€ข Marketplace Analysis: Analyze competitors, consumer trends, and business metrics (bookings, sell-through) to make informed, strategic decisions.
โ€ข Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with design, development, materials and marketing to ensure timely delivery and innovative apparel creation.
โ€ข Systems Management: Maintain accuracy in data systems, including Visual Line Plans (VLPs) and product creation tools.
โ€ข Go-to-Market (GTM) Support: Partner with merchandising on product sell-in, ensuring that the product vision is effectively communicated to sales teams and partners.
โ€ข Recruit, hire and onboard various team members and vendors
โ€ข Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 6-8 years+ experience in apparel product line management and product design/merchandising
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Merchandising, Fashion, or a related field.
โ€ข Strong experience in apparel merchandising, product management, or retail buying.
โ€ข Deep understanding of retail math, financial metrics, and consumer trends.
โ€ข Must have extensive knowledge of raw materials and garment construction
โ€ข Extensive experience working and communicating with domestic and international manufacturers
โ€ข Proven ability to provide leadership, supervision and direction to peers through development process
โ€ข Ability to demonstrate capabilities through a costing exercise
โ€ข Familiarity leading a team and working with a PLM system
โ€ข Proficient in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
โ€ข Strong communication skills both verbal and written and must be able to actively and attentively listen
โ€ข Must be able to travel 30% of time
โ€ข Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
โ€ข May work in drastic temperature climates
โ€ข Must be willing travel to work events during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
