What does a production intern do?

A Production Intern assists in various aspects of the production process for film, television, theater, or other media projects. Their responsibilities often include supporting the crew, helping with equipment setup, managing schedules, organizing props or costumes, and handling administrative tasks. Production Interns gain hands-on experience, learn about the workflow on set, and often contribute to creative or logistical tasks as needed. This role is ideal for those looking to start a career in media production and develop industry connections.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a production intern?

To thrive as a Production Intern, you need a foundational understanding of production processes, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, often supported by coursework or experience in media, film, or related fields. Familiarity with production equipment, editing software (such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro), and basic office tools is typically expected. Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and effective communication help interns excel in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
