About The Opportunity
The Press Helper supports safe and efficient printing operations by assisting with press setup, operation, quality checks, and basic troubleshooting. This position offers hands-on training, opportunities to learn manufacturing best practices, and opportunities for advancement while working as part of a team to meet production and customer needs.
Starting Rate: $23.75/hr. + shift differential
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties, however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.
  • Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist with set-ups and operation of the printing press.
  • Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product.
  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
  • Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands.
  • Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area.
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
  • Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Become certified as back-up Secondary Operator. (must start training with operator by 6 months in position and complete training checklist by 12 months in position)
  • Act as Secondary Operator during vacations, leave of absences, etc., on all shifts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Other Requirements (education, experience, skills/knowledge):
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) or Technical degree in Printing preferred.
  • Possess the ability to blend and color match ink.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Possess the ability to take direction, work with supervision, and work well within a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication.

Shift Schedule: 12-hour Rotation, 2-2-3 Schedule
