SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $98,000 - $130,000 annually. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. SUMMARY
Theย Productionย Engineerย IIIย is responsible for the plan and design of manufacturing processes required to produce solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). The primary purpose and focus of theย Productionย Engineerย IIIย isย to maximize efficiency in the manufacturing process.ย Theย Productionย Engineerย IIIย works collaboratively & withย minimalย supervision.ย

RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Define manufacturing processes by creating work instructions, control plans, and PFMEAย
- Maximizes manufacturing efficiencies by analyzing layout and operation of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilizationย
- Analyzes and determines parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goalsย
- Designs and tests product through the design, development, and validation process to integrate fluid-mechanical and electrical subsystems with the latest fuel cell technologyย
- Collaborate with research and development, product development engineers, and manufacturing staff to create high-tech products and patented devicesย
- Using the stage gate development process, track and manage resource allocation across multiple, simultaneous projectsย
- Use problem solving tools and techniques to urgently root cause issuesย
- Compile data and provide to Business Development team for periodic technical reports that keep our customers informed of project status and overall product developmentย
- Ability to mentor other junior staffย
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
- Bachelorโs Degree โ BSME or relatedย
- 4-7ย years of experience working in a hands-on production environmentย
- 4+ yearsย managing technical product development projects and handling multiple projectsย
- Successful application of engineering and manufacturing processesย
- Worked with CAD in a product development or manufacturing environmentย
- Worked with machined, metal formed and plastic componentsย
- Previous experience managing project work and designs on a variety of simultaneously running projectsย
- Ability to utilize MS Office and other engineering software programsย
- Working understanding of Lean, DFMA, Six Sigma, and FMEAย
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing environmentย
- Ability to manage multiple projects and be comfortable reacting to changing prioritiesย
- Respond to and implement changes suggested in projects to the product design. Understand customer (internal and external) needs and anticipate requestsย
- Define what needs to be accomplished, consistently complete tasks. Takes responsibility for resolving a problem, regardless of where it belongsย
- Obtain quality results while utilizing an appropriate level of resourcesย
- Ability to make decisions based on incomplete data.ย Methodical and expedient in selecting options with a high degree of accuracy and efficiencyย

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
