About the Role

Hoskbrew LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Design Lead to spearhead the visual and physical integrity of our restoration products and branded materials.

This role is a unique hybrid of forensic graphic design, industrial print production, and vendor management. The ideal candidate combines advanced technical design expertise with hands-on production oversight and a passion for preserving historical authenticity.

In this position, you will oversee the entire label and branding lifecycle—from reconstructing legacy artwork with microscopic precision to sourcing and managing specialized industrial print vendors responsible for final production. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives at the intersection of creativity, technical accuracy, craftsmanship, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconstruct high-fidelity vector artwork from degraded or legacy physical samples with exceptional accuracy
  • Maintain historical design integrity through deep understanding of vintage print methods, materials, and production techniques
  • Source, evaluate, and manage specialized industrial print vendors for non-standard and specialty production runs
  • Negotiate pricing, production timelines, and technical specifications with external vendors and manufacturing partners
  • Execute advanced color matching and calibration across multiple substrates and lighting environments
  • Conduct durability and archival testing on materials including adhesives, laminates, coatings, and inks
  • Ensure all production outputs meet strict quality standards for restoration authenticity, precision, and longevity
  • Manage the full production lifecycle from design approval through physical application and final inspection
  • Apply decals, labels, and physical design elements with precision to high-value restored hardware
  • Develop and maintain production standards, quality control processes, and documentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with restoration, engineering, and operations teams to support production goals
QualificationsPreferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related field
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Certifications in print production, color management, or Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design with strong emphasis on print production
  • Proven experience in vendor management, procurement, or manufacturing coordination
  • Experience working with specialized materials, print processes, restoration projects, or collectible products preferred
  • Experience with industrial print vendors and specialty manufacturing environments strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with advanced print-ready vectorization skills
  • Strong understanding of print production standards including pre-flight, bleed setup, GSM specifications, CMYK, and Pantone color systems
  • Knowledge of material science as it relates to print durability, adhesives, laminates, and long-term preservation
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to achieve precise 1:1 design reconstruction and accuracy
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and production coordination skills
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and enforce production compliance standards
  • High level of manual dexterity and precision for physical application work
  • Strong organizational, project management, and workflow prioritization abilities
  • Creative problem-solving mindset with commitment to craftsmanship and quality
Leadership & Collaboration

This role oversees relationships with external print vendors, manufacturing partners, and contract production resources. The Production Design Lead will provide technical direction, maintain production quality standards, and coordinate priorities across the production pipeline to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

Work Environment & Schedule
  • Primarily office, studio, and production-based work environment
  • Full-time schedule, typically Monday through Friday
  • Standard shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility based on production timelines and project needs
  • Hands-on work involving detailed physical application and inspection processes
  • Collaborative, creative, and fast-paced environment focused on craftsmanship and precision
