Production Planner I will support production scheduling and operational execution through the creation, release, and maintenance of accurate work orders and traveler documentation. This role works closely with the Master Scheduler and operations teams to ensure jobs are released accurately, completely, and in alignment with production priorities. The Production Planner I plays a critical role in maintaining production flow by ensuring documentation, routings, BOMs, and operational information are accurate and available to support efficient manufacturing execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate forecast data for material usage through upload of BOM and creation of preliminary work orders.
- Own schedule of all Warranties and Expedites.
- Prepare, review, and pl an production work orders in alignment with the master production schedule.
- Develop and maintain traveler documentation to ensure accurate and complete manufacturing instructions for production teams.
- Verify accuracy of BOMs, routings, drawings, and supporting documentation prior to job release.
- Ensure work orders are released with all required materials, documentation, and operational details to support efficient execution.
- Support the Master Scheduler by coordinating timely and accurate release of jobs to the production floor. Communicate and flag any documentation deviations or discrepancies.
- Elevate issues to Master Scheduler that impact Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve issues impacting work order release or production flow.
- Assist in managing production queues and maintaining visibility into released and planned work orders.
- Maintain accurate production data within ERP systems, including work orders, routings, BOMs, and scheduling information.
- Schedule and own coordinating and releasing all warranties
- Track scrap inventory, allocation, and usage to ensure accuracy in BOMs.
- Assist with ERP process improvements and system standardization initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, operations, production control, or related field preferred.
- Experience working in manufacturing or production environments preferred.
- Experience with ERP, MES, or MRP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production documentation.

This role is physically active and requires the ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific visual abilities required for this position include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
