Job description

Job Title:ย Production Support Cย

Job Location: Rochester, NY

Job Schedule: 4/10: Employees work 10 hour days, 4 days a week

Job Description:

This person will contribute to the company's success by overseeing and coordinating a production team to efficiently process work in accordance with a production plan and to promote and deliver high quality output. Works with Operations Management to execute in accordance a system of manufacturing standards and follow company policies and procedures. Encourages team members to drive continual improvement in their production area using the continuous improvement tool set. Act as the go-to person for any production needs.

Essentialย Functions:

ย 

  • Completes work orders, and builds in accordance with priority (product, spares) and standard routing and instruction (PD).
  • Minimizes down time during processing (material, tools, etc.) and leads efforts to minimize down-time caused by line changeovers.
  • Replenish & make item subassemblies when needed / signaled.
  • Promote and deliver high quality by ensuring only trained operators perform the work (training matrix, qual card), put production on hold for quality issues
  • Motivate and hold the individuals and the team accountable for quality, meeting quality objectives for the product / line (DPPM, yield, etc.).
  • Adhere to L3Harris Manufacturing System process standards which includes, productivity tracking, quality control plans, leading Standard Work, Kamishibai Process Control / TPM, and other - Qual Cards, 5S, Shelf Life, Calibration, etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement by encouraging just-do-it improvement (Fix what is bugging' the team), encouraging the use of the yellow action list to address issues and drive action, and driving waste elimination (kaizen philosophy).
  • Ensure system integrity (Oracle, PeopleSoft) through production scans, quality data, defect entry / troubleshoot inputs, inventory transfers, and timecards.
  • Help the team communicate (production huddles, etc.), ensure adherence to all company policies, be the go-to person for production issues/concerns and look for opportunity to supplement the team, contribute direct labor, elevate issues to the supervisor / manager, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 6ย years prior production experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 2ย years prior production experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • J-STD001 / IPC7711 - (Able to solder)
  • Strong communication - Written / Verbal
  • Attention to detail / High quality performance
