Job description

Service Parts Planner
Production Control Department
Position Summary:
This position partners with cross-functional teams within Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. to support in-house issues with Service Parts alongside being a direct communication channel with SOA, SBR, and internal SIA Management. The role also works with Supplier accounts to ensure quality and on-time delivery of Service Parts.
Outline of duties:
  • Support in-house aftermarket schedules and requirements for Metal, Bumper, and Engine Service Parks production
  • Assess overall supplier capability and develop recovery plans when delivery performance or quality falls below target by partnering with production teams and SPP Supplier Planners
  • Support model launch activities by ensuring supplier readiness and that correct part information is available
  • Work with Subaru of America (SOA) to help manage any field concerns and adjust schedules to align with changing priorities, and align activity between SOA and internal groups
  • Review drawings and engineering changes related to aftermarket parts to ensure accuracy
  • Address any issues with parts, packaging, lead times, logistics, and deliveries
  • Ensure packaging specifications meet all regulatory requirements (OSHA, Prop 65, DOT, Leaf Mark, etc.)
  • Communicate with the Aftermarket Parts Planning section in Japan as needed including regular video conferences
  • Produces reporting and cost analysis as needed
  • Make on-site supplier visits to evaluate conditions and help improve aftermarket parts processes
  • Manage part data parameters as well as order and shipment information
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience
    • Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with suppliers

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years of relevant experience
    • Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
  • Experience in the automotive industry and aftermarket parts
