Job description

Overview

Responsibilities
The Blend Line Operator's primary function is to maintain raw material for each line through proper material blending processes. A blend line operator also moves and packages blended loads throughout the facility and receives direction throughout their work shift from the Blending Lead Operator. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and weekends as required. A Blend Line Operator reports directly to the plant Production Supervisor.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Transport recycled plastic to the blending machine for processing and then transport to storage or prepare for distribution
  • Maintain and build job skills through company training programs Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
  • Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to the Production Mgr or Plant Mgr
  • Assist with Preventive Maintenance program as required
  • Daily forklift driving and use; practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain facility housekeeping

Job Skills:
This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Strong forklift skills
  • Self-motivated and the ability to stay on task with little to no supervision
  • Basic mechanical skills (IE troubleshooting and general preventative maintenance abilities)
  • Flexibility with operations and the ability to work weekends when needed
  • Willing to learn and grow with the line and the company
  • Great attention to detail
  • The ability to follow instructions and stay aligned with expectations
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Dependable
  • Basic math and computer skills

Educational Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience:
  • Previous industrial or manufacturing experience

Physical Requirements:
  • The employee will lift and move heavy items, which will require the ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feet
  • The employee will be working specified shifts and moving around at all times, which will require the ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
  • Facilities can be extremely hot or cold at times, so the employee must have the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
  • The employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport material and finished goods
  • The Position requires full range of body motion on a daily basis including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
