What You Will Be Doing:

  • This role is a more advanced Production Associate position requiring independent process adjustments and technical decision-making.
  • Assemble material and operate equipment within specifications, safely and efficiently
  • Measure, assemble materials, apply chemicals, and transport materials within specifications and with precision
  • Work with both solid and liquid raw materials in batch mixing operations
  • Adjust batch processing using analytical testing to change batch properties; use engineering charts and historical data to assist in adjustments
  • Operate moisture balance and plasticity tester
  • Read and follow standard operating sheets (SOS) and troubleshoot process deviations
  • Verify solutions, materials, and finished product criteria are within specifications prior to using or releasing
  • Use care and attention to detail while working with raw materials and finished product to ensure product is not damaged and is properly handled
  • Operate independently and collaborate with engineers/technicians; communicate issues with product, processes, and data to supervisor/manager in a timely manner
  • Place raw materials into a mixer
  • Place kneaded mixes into the pre-extruder
  • Take formed bricks and run through Loomis extruder to form honeycomb catalysts
  • Place honeycomb catalysts on trays, wrap, and place on the cart for the ovens
  • Place carts with honeycomb catalysts in ovens, monitor temperature, and humidity, making necessary adjustments, remove catalysts once complete
  • Prepare dry honeycomb catalysts for chemical activation
  • Prepare chemical mix for activation process
  • Cut honeycomb catalysts to specifications
  • Build arrays by cementing catalysts into specifications and install in modules
  • Operate a forklift in a safe manner
  • Operate an overhead crane in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work on assigned shifts

Work Schedule:

  • 1st Shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday (overtime may be required)
  • 2nd Shift 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday (overtime may be required)
  • 3rd Shift 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Sunday thru Thursday (overtime may be required)

Following completion of initial training, this position will transition to a 12-hour 2-2-3 shift schedule, providing extended time off and more scheduled days away from work.

What Knowledge and Skills We Prefer:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Manufacturing or closely related experience
  • Forklift experience preferred

  • Mechanical noise
  • Dusty and dirty work environment due to materials and raw materials
  • Varying temperatures from warm to cold.

The Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift push, pull, and carry 25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting, climbing, and kneeling.
