Electromechanical Instrument Technician

Location: Rockville, MD
Pay: $26.50–$30.30/hour

Position Overview

M Force Partners is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Instrument Technician to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and production of high-value laboratory instruments in a light manufacturing environment. This Electromechanical Instrument Technician role is responsible for assembling electro-mechanical systems, performing product testing, supporting engineering initiatives, and ensuring products meet quality and performance standards.

The ideal Electromechanical Instrument Technician will have experience with electro-mechanical assembly, troubleshooting hardware at the component and system level, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical instruments and subassemblies
  • Perform final product assembly and functional testing of laboratory equipment
  • Configure computer hardware and software for production systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues at the component and system level
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly instructions
  • Utilize digital multimeters, measurement tools, and diagnostic equipment during testing
  • Package completed assemblies and manage production materials
  • Maintain accurate production, testing, and quality documentation
  • Support engineers with product development, experiments, and manufacturing improvements
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes
  • Follow ISO, FDA, GMP, ESD, and company quality standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
  • Experience assembling and testing electro-mechanical devices, laboratory equipment, or medical devices
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Experience using digital multimeters, measuring equipment, and hand tools
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an ISO, FDA, or GMP regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience with laboratory procedures, pipetting, dispensing chemicals, or reagent handling
  • Knowledge of ESD standards and manufacturing best practices
  • Experience working with aluminum, steel, plastics, and precision components
  • Experience supporting engineering and new product development activities
