As a Senior Resident Product Engineer, you will support major supply-chain initiatives by providing engineering expertise across suppliers, manufacturing locations, materials, and existing product designs. You'll help evaluate alternatives, qualify materials and suppliers, support continuity initiatives, and drive engineering solutions that improve quality, delivery, cost, and long-term product performance.

You'll Support Meaningful Work By:
  • Supporting engineering activities related to major supply-chain initiatives involving suppliers, manufacturing locations, alternative materials, and source changes.
  • Investigating material, supplier, quality, and delivery challenges to identify engineering solutions that support business continuity and operational performance.
  • Qualifying new materials, suppliers, and design changes while ensuring products continue to meet performance and quality requirements.
  • Maintaining and improving existing product designs after launch to address evolving customer, manufacturing, regulatory, and business needs.
  • Collaborating with supply-chain solutions teams, manufacturing locations, suppliers, and cross-functional partners to successfully execute engineering projects.
  • Managing engineering project activities across multiple product lines, manufacturing plants, and supplier networks to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Driving cost savings, resolving supply-chain issues, and delivering engineering solutions that support long-term business objectives

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product engineering, manufacturing engineering, lifecycle engineering, product testing, or a related engineering field.
  • Experience creating and defining performance requirements on engineering drawings.
  • Experience supporting engineering projects involving product changes, manufacturing, suppliers, materials, or product lifecycle activities.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Steelcase will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role.

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Creo, Windchill, and SAP in support of engineering, product lifecycle management, and product data management activities.

The starting annual base salary range for this position is $102,000 - $128,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
