This role follows an onsite model to accommodate business needs while maintaining team collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess and develop microbiology methods using analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collect and analyze microbiological samples, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
  • Support existing product continuous improvement for multiple top priority projects.
  • Lead small cross-functional teams to develop and analyze experimental formulations for indicators and pathogen platforms.
  • Use analytical tools such as statistical process controls, trending, and graphs to evaluate process capability and drive product improvements.
  • Participate in technology scouting and product optimization related to portfolio optimization.
  • Present findings at internal and external meetings, and prepare abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
  • Maintain industry and technology awareness related to microbiological sample collection and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product design meets customer requirements by linking design specifications.
  • Maintain design specifications records (DSR) for existing products.
  • Manage design change and control documentation including decisions and rationale.
  • Design, run, and analyze experiments using scientific methods to validate product functionality.
  • Conduct laboratory and pilot scale manufacturing experiments.
  • Provide technical information for creating product standards and specifications.
  • Execute internal and external approval projects prioritized by Neogen.
  • Serve/Lead weekly TOPs team to align and prioritize impactful VAVE and Hard savings.
  • Support Quality and Manufacturing teams on resolution of product quality issues related to sample collection, including investigation, CAPAs, Supplier Corrective Actions, and disposition of non-conforming product.
  • Provide product technical information for regulatory submissions and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain records of changes and technical reports.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the design of experiments and other statistical methods.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 + years' experience in microbiological sample collection and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in design of experiments and statistical methods.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
