Job description

Technically and commercially support the development of the IMR Technologies global services portfolio, a key transformative initiative focused on developing vessel light and asset based (no vessel) solutions for the inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) services. The role will also support traditional IMR services, including manned vessels, by developing technologies in the area of Flooded Member Detection (FMD).

REQUIRED

  • Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Engineering, or Industrial Engineering and 60 months of experience in Production Engineering or related occupation.
  • 5 years of experience in subsea field services with International Energy Sector Experience (i.e. not just Gulf of America)
  • 3 years of experience in Engineering and product development for Subsea Inspection, to include development and application of advanced Flooded Member Detection (FMD) methods for flooded armor wire annuli in subsea flexible flowlines. 
  • 3 years of experience in subsea inspection methods, including visual, acoustic, and electromagnetic techniques 
  • 3 years of experience in leading new product development projects within the Subsea Inspection domain.
  • 3 years of experience in Subsea Engineering and Inspection, Maintenance, Repair (IMR) services.
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required.

Working Conditions (Regional Variance Required)

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows. 

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night. 
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace. 
  • Work surface is stable (flat).

Functions

  • Product Strategy Development: Formulate product strategies aligned with the IMR Subsea Inspection technologies, specifically in the development and application of advanced Flooded Member Detection (FMD)  
  • Develop Specific Roadmaps to guide the business in the execution of these critical strategies in the FMD field.  
  • Segment Collaboration: Actively work with SSR (Subsea Robotics) and IMDS (Integrity Management and Data Solutions) segments to integrate IMR products and services. 
  • New Product Development: Direct/ dictate the needed resource from New Product Development for the   development of flooded member detection and related subsea inspection technologies 
  • Advise Project Management as a Subject matter expert of any specific developments on accurate project timelines, assist in estimating budgets, and direct the specifics of the deliverables to ensure successful product launches.
  • Interface with Account Directors, commercial teams and Business Development managers to educate prior to product/service launches ensuring that the timing and degree of focus is aligned to drive growth in the area of flooded member detection technologies.

Key Accountabilities

  • IMR Flooded member and related Technologies Development
    • Development of strategies and roadmaps to achieve them
    • Development of clear business cases to show the benefit of these strategies.
    • Communicate these strategies and roadmaps as required in part or whole to educate the internal and external customers on the benefits and potential.
    • Work with the different functional groups to bridge the gaps in responsibilities to smoothly deliver service improvements, new product offerings and overall business growth in this sector of OPG's business.
  • New Product Development Management
    • Monitor and direct new product development (NPD) as the Subject matter expert when they are assigned any tasks in the technology development roadmap.
    • Consistently review workload of NPD assessing whether it is within the guidelines of the scope assigned.
