Job description

NextGear Capital is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Data Engineering & Data Products to serve as the product leader for a growing portfolio of enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and governance capabilities.
You will work directly with Data Engineering teams responsible for building and maintaining Snowflake-based data solutions, data models, governance frameworks, and analytics capabilities that support products and business functions across the organization.
This role is responsible for defining priorities, managing stakeholder demand, translating business needs into actionable engineering work, and ensuring data products are discoverable, trusted, scalable, and aligned to strategic objectives. Success requires a strong partnership with engineering teams, the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, and a passion for using data to drive business outcomes.
The ideal candidate understands both the business value and technical foundations of data products. They are comfortable discussing concepts such as data pipelines, governance, modeling, quality, and accessibility while maintaining a product-first mindset focused on customer needs and measurable outcomes.
What You'll Do:
  • Provides Product Management support for broader and more complex products and features within an assigned product area or customer base.
  • Partners with UX research, marketing research, client solutions and business stakeholders to observe and solicit feedback from consumers and clients.
  • Manages more complex aspects of existing products / product lines within stable markets.
  • Defines and prioritizes requirements for data products, including data pipelines, models, and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Collibra), partnering with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data quality, governance, and usability.
  • Engages with cross-functional stakeholders and business partners, to ensure product vision addresses:
    • Marketplace access
    • Format
    • Key features and functionality requirements,
    • Service and support requirements,
    • Key accounts and prospects.
  • Evaluates customer / market / financial data, identifies emerging patterns, trends and problems and recommends strategies and approaches for resolution.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to evaluate opportunities with a promise of positive product / product line impact.
  • Recommends and helps implement Product Management's process improvement initiatives.

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 16 years' experience in a related field
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities, requirements analysis, system and technology integration and technology savvy.
  • Hands-on experience with data platforms and tools such as Snowflake, Collibra, and SQL to build, query, and govern data products.
  • Working knowledge of data modeling basics, including how data is structured and organized to support analytics and reporting.
  • Familiarity with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Understanding of data governance and privacy principles, including PII handling and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT and data pipeline concepts (e.g., dbt, Airflow).
  • Comfort with statistics and experimentation to support data-driven decision making.
  • Basic understanding of how data products support AI/ML use cases, such as training data and feature stores.
  • Acts with integrity and skilled in building partnerships, driving innovation, focusing on execution and striving for excellence.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

USD 101,500.00 - 169,100.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $101,500.00 - $169,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
