Make a Real Impact: Technical Product Manager at Singlewire Software

Singlewire Software, based in Madison, Wisconsin, is dedicated to shaping a future where every organization can protect its people with confidence. We deliver innovative solutions, including InformaCast critical communication and incident management software, the InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge, and Visitor Aware visitor and safety management software.

Our technology helps organizations instantly reach the right people, coordinate responses, and manage critical events to empower schools, healthcare systems, manufacturers, enterprises, and public organizations to create safer environments.

Just as important as what we build is how we work. We're a collaborative, supportive team that cares deeply about our mission, our customers, and each other.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of assigned areas within InformaCast. In this role, you will bridge business strategy and technical execution, partnering closely with agile engineering, product design, and QA teams to ship high-impact capabilities where reliability directly affects life-safety outcomes.

InformaCast covers a wide technical footprint: cloud and on-premises notification delivery, incident management for active emergencies, wearable panic button hardware (BLE/LoRaWAN), mobile/desktop applications, IP phone/speaker integrations, and enterprise-scale administrative tools.

Who You Are
  • Awesome to work with and genuinely fired up about the work you do.
  • Driven by a deep curiosity and excitement for identifying customers' real problems and designing solutions to alleviate them.
  • Detail-oriented, without ever losing sight of the big picture.
  • Someone who flourishes with non-routine and complex work.
  • Equipped with strong interpersonal skills, loving the process of collaborating across cross-organizational teams.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and loves to learn new technical domains and tools.
  • Someone who works seamlessly with Dev and QA folks as a trusted daily partner.

What You Will Do

Operate at both strategic and tactical levels, you will balance multi-quarter vision with day-to-day execution:

  • Cross-Functional Execution: Partner with agile engineering, QA, and product design teams. Author user stories, define acceptance criteria, manage backlogs, and make firm prioritization calls with sound reasoning. Coordinate across cloud, client, and firmware release cycles where applicable.
  • Customer & Market Discovery: Conduct customer interviews, ride-alongs, and win/loss analyses to uncover true underlying operational pain points during emergency situations.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Own the full product lifecycle from discovery through launch and iteration. Translate company strategy into prioritized multi-quarter roadmaps.
  • Deployment & Field Enablement: Serve as the authority on how capabilities perform in real customer environments. Build documentation, enablement tools, and beta programs to empower Sales, Support, and channel partners.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Alignment: Articulate strategy across all organizational levels, present at advisory boards, and drive consensus among competing priorities.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making & Quality: Monitor key performance metrics (adoption, retention, engagement), leverage quantitative/qualitative data, and participate in acceptance testing to validate customer value.
What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years in a product-related role (Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, or Engineer transitioning to Product).
    • Demonstrated track record of shipping production software and owning product areas end-to-end.
    • Proven experience working directly within agile development teams alongside engineering, design, and QA.
  • Technical Depth & Aptitude:
    • Strong technical aptitude to engage substantively with engineers on architecture, feasibility, and technical trade-offs.
    • Working knowledge of modern SaaS/cloud development (APIs, integrations, deployment practices).
  • AI Proficiency & Vision:
    • Proficiency in using modern AI tools to accelerate PM workflows (research, synthesis, feedback analysis, requirements drafting).
    • General fluency in AI capabilities/limitations to evaluate where AI should be applied in a life-safety setting.
  • Mindset & Competencies:
    • Customer-centric, analytical, and comfortable making firm "no" or "not now" trade-off decisions.
    • Strategic thinker with high attention to detail, self-drive, and sound judgment under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Domain Expertise: Experience in emergency management, incident command, public safety, crisis response, healthcare security/operations, or public safety dispatching.
  • Hardware & Wireless Tech: Familiarity with BLE, LoRaWAN, location systems (RTLS), connected devices, or coordinating hardware/firmware/software release cycles.
  • Telecom & Infrastructure: Experience with on-premises audio/telephony, UCaaS, SIP, or multicast.
  • Clients & Platforms: Experience managing mobile (iOS/Android) or desktop client applications.
  • Market Context: Experience in mission-critical software, regulated industries (healthcare, education, government), enterprise SaaS, or channel-led go-to-market models.
Our Culture

At Singlewire, we believe what we do truly matters. We're passionate about protecting people and helping organizations respond when it counts. We're a team of collaborators who support each other, work hard toward shared goals, and celebrate successes together.
