Cosmos is Microsoft's big data analytics SaaS service providing compute and storage capabilities to power mission critical workloads for businesses at Microsoft. It is the central repository where Microsoft teams ingest, store, process, query, and share structured and unstructured data at scale. Cosmos is only available to 1P customers and is run as a shared, multi-tenant service optimized for big data analytics. Cosmos is not just a big data platform but a complete ecosystem of tools and solutions that have been developed by the customer community.
Our team actively uses AI tools including Copilots, internal platforms, and data-driven insights - to accelerate product discovery, design, validation, and execution. Responsibilities
  • Drive end-to-end product/program delivery for Cosmos platform features, from problem identification and requirement definition through implementation, validation, and production rollout
  • Own program management and delivery oversight for Cosmos platform capabilities, coordinating planning, execution, stakeholder alignment, and rollout readiness
  • Drive capacity planning and Supply chain management for the Cosmos platform.
  • Translate customer business needs into well-scoped program plans and engineering requirements.
  • Lead cross-team execution by coordinating dependencies across engineering, operations, security, and other platform teams.
  • Partner with engineering and live-site teams to support operational readiness, reliability goals, and service health improvements.
  • Manage the Incident and change management process for the Cosmos environment along with the DRI activities and define and monitor success metrics (e.g., reliability, performance, cost efficiency) for owned features.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders on status, risks, decisions, and trade-offs and contribute to a strong PM culture through documentation, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

    • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience driving complex initiatives from concept to deliver
  • Hands on experience with LLM APIs (ie: Azure OpenAI) and tool use
  • Exceptional communication skills, and also technical skills - including the ability to explain complex technical concepts & issues with engineering for resolutions
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain management and capacity planning
  • Proficient understanding of SQL, Kusto, Power BI.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (Paas, Saas, Analytics & AI, DevOps and Networking).

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
