Job Summary:
AST is a company focused on enhancing the efficiency and safety of aseptic manufacturing processes for the Life Science Industry. They are seeking a strategic Product Manager to join their Research and Development team, responsible for expanding the product portfolio and executing innovative product strategies.
Responsibilities:
• Market Intelligence: Monitor the pharma/biotech landscape, including market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor strategies, to maintain a competitive edge.
• Strategic Alignment: Identify high-value product opportunities that align with customer needs and AST’s Mission, Vision, and Purpose.
• Product Strategy: Develop and execute product roadmaps with actionable goals that support AST’s broader market strategies and sales targets.
• Investment & R&D: Propose capital expenditure and R&D initiatives essential for achieving long-term business objectives.
• Program Management: Direct complex development programs, maintaining full accountability for budget adherence and milestone scheduling.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Execution and R&D teams to initiate, prioritize, and manage the product development lifecycle.
• Go-to-Market Execution: Partner with Marketing, BD, and Engineering to launch products through integrated campaigns, internal training, and technical literature.
• Commercial Support: Work with Sales Engineering to craft professional proposals for standard product lines.
• Lifecycle Management: Coordinate with Quality and Engineering on change controls, product revisions, and technical updates.
• Cost Optimization: Drive value engineering initiatives with Supply Chain and Engineering to optimize product cost structures and feature sets.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years in Product Management, ideally including 2+ years in the pharmaceutical sector with a solid grasp of industry-specific regulatory requirements.
• Extensive experience in the design, manufacture, and integration of automated machinery.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, exposure to 3D modeling, CFD, or animation software is highly desirable.
• A proven track record in strategic financial planning and budget management.
• Exceptional technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and motivating cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated history of sound commercial judgment, high integrity, and a proactive, thorough approach to project ownership.
• Available for 15% or more domestic and international travel.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Must be willing to take and successfully pass a drug test.
Preferred:
• Exposure to 3D modeling, CFD, or animation software is highly desirable.
