What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Product Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Product Manager, you need a strong background in market analysis, product lifecycle management, and strategic planning, often supported by a degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Trello, product analytics platforms, and Agile methodologies is commonly required. Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills help Product Managers align cross-functional teams and prioritize customer needs. These abilities are crucial for delivering successful products that meet business goals and drive customer satisfaction.

What are some common challenges Product Managers face when balancing stakeholder expectations and product vision?

Product Managers often navigate the challenge of aligning diverse stakeholder interests with the overarching product vision. Balancing input from executives, engineering, marketing, and customers can sometimes lead to conflicting priorities or scope creep. Successful Product Managers use clear communication, prioritization frameworks, and data-driven decision-making to ensure that product development stays focused and delivers value. Regularly updating stakeholders and setting realistic expectations are also key practices for managing this complex dynamic.

What are Product Manager Co roles?

Product Manager Co roles typically refer to entry-level or associate product management positions, often labeled as 'Product Manager, Co-op' or 'Product Manager, College.' These roles are designed for students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in product management. Individuals in these positions work closely with senior product managers and cross-functional teams to assist in developing, launching, and improving products. Their responsibilities may include conducting market research, gathering user feedback, supporting product strategy, and helping coordinate project timelines. These roles provide a foundational understanding of the product lifecycle and help individuals build the skills necessary for a full-time product management career.

Job description

Stefanini Group is hiring!

Stefanini is looking for a 3DX Product Manager(Dearborn, MI)

For quick apply, please reach out to Adil Khan at 248-728- 6424/ adil.khan@stefanini.com

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Manager to lead the transformation, modernization, and migration of our Automotive Bill of Materials (BOM) management processes into the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) platform. In this role, you will be the product champion responsible for sunsetting our legacy PLM/BOM systems and establishing a unified, 3DX-native BOM solution. You will define how we manage complex automotive product structures—including 150% Master BOMs, variant configuration, effectivity, and 100% Configured BOMs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product roadmap for migrating legacy automotive BOM data and processes (e.g., from Teamcenter, Windchill, SAP, or proprietary legacy databases) into 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects to design and manage "co-existence" strategies (dual-running of legacy and 3DX systems) to ensure zero disruption to ongoing vehicle programs. Establish decommissioning criteria for legacy BOM applications as capabilities are successfully transitioned to 3DX.
  • Own the product vision for how vehicle structures, options, variants, and marketing rules are authored, managed, and validated within 3DX. Design and implement robust processes for managing the 150% Over-Complete BOM and generating precise 100% Configured BOMs for downstream procurement and manufacturing. Define the integration points and data-flow standards between CAD (3D design), EBOM (Engineering BOM), MBOM (Manufacturing BOM), and downstream ERP systems (e.g., SAP). Drive the standardization of Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECO) and effectivity (date, unit, serial, and milestone-based) within the 3DX environment.
  • Partner closely with Data Migration and IT teams to define data mapping, transformation rules, and data cleansing strategies from legacy schemas to the 3DX unified data model. Establish data quality metrics and validation frameworks to ensure migrated BOM structures are complete, accurate, and fully functional in the new platform.
  • Manage, prioritize, and refine the product backlog (Epics, User Stories) in Jira, balancing technical migration debt with new feature enablement. Act as the primary liaison between global vehicle program teams, engineering attributes leads, purchasing, manufacturing, and the PLM implementation team. Advocate for "Out-of-the-Box" (OOTB) 3DEXPERIENCE capabilities to minimize customization, ensuring long-term platform supportability and upgrade paths.
  • Lead the cultural and process shift required to move global engineering teams from legacy BOM-authoring mindsets to a modern, data-driven 3DX paradigm. Partner with Change Management teams to develop comprehensive training plans, user guides, and hyper-care support models for phased rollouts.

Skills Required

  • Product Management

Skills Preferred

  • Java, REST APIs

Experience Required

  • 7+ years of experience as Product/Delivery Mgr.
  • Define the end-to-end PLM architecture on the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform (Cloud or On-Premises).
  • Lead the strategy for BOM Transformation, ensuring seamless synchronization between Engineering BOM (EBOM), Manufacturing BOM (MBOM), and Service BOM (SBOM).
  • Architect solutions for Product Configuration and Variant Management to handle complex automotive option-logic and 150% BOM structures.
  • Design data models, schema changes, and interface specifications within ENOVIA.
  • Oversee the integration of 3DX with downstream systems such as ERP (SAP/Oracle) and legacy CAD environments (CATIA V5/V6). Lead technical deep-dives into 3DX modules such as Product Configurator, and Change Manager.
  • Develop migration strategies for transitioning legacy BOM data into the 3DX environment 3. Domain Excellence (Automotive BOM)
  • Standardize Change Management processes (ECR/ECN) within the platform to ensure traceability across global engineering teams.
  • Work closely with Engineering Leads and Manufacturing Engineers to translate business requirements into scalable technical requirements. Provide technical governance and mentorship to developers and system integrators.

Education Required

  • Bachelor's Degree

Education Preferred

  • Master's Degree
