Job description

A leading manufacturer of equipment and systems for resistance welding, laser welding, laser marking, laser cutting, laser micromachining, and hot bar bonding is seeking a Product Engineer for a full time position in Monrovia, CA.
SUMMARY:
The Product Engineer enables sales success for product lines by providing, in a timely manner, competitively superior technical solutions and responses to requests from internal and external customers. Responsibilities include various aspects of Product Management, Technical Training, Sales Support, and Product Promotion. Extensive direct customer and sales force engagement is required

Domestic and international travel is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical support of product lines as assigned.
Communicate with customers and field sales staff during the pre-sale and post-sale phases to understand application needs, providing responses in coordination with Field Sales, Engineering, and Applications Lab.
Validate new products against marketing requirements; review and recommend product changes.
Design and develop modifications to standard products meeting customer requirements.
Assist the Product Manager with the development and review of product specifications and sales and marketing strategies.
Assist in the development of technical marketing materials including datasheets and application articles. Provide solutions and application inputs to marketing for generating communications and collateral materials.
Testing and analysis of competitive products.
Provide technical support for seminars, workshops, trade shows, and sales meetings.
Develop technical materials for presentations to customers and sales representatives supporting product launches and ongoing sales efforts.
Provide project management support to Engineering and Manufacturing Departments.
Provide technical information support to Customer Service.
Other projects and activities as assigned by the management team.
Requirements:
Experience in specifying, operating, designing, or maintaining equipment for industrial production and automation.
BS Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Material Science Engineering or equivalent experience required.
3 to 5 years" experience in Product Management, Engineering, or Applications.
Strong organization skills, excellent customer service approach, and can-do attitude
Excellent communications skills, including writing and presenting technical product and service information to engineers, operators, and senior business managers.
Ability to research and solve technical problems for internal and external customers.
Superior time management and follow-through with the ability to accomplish day-to-day tasks while continuing to make progress, and bring to completion, longer-term projects.
EXCEL, WORD, and CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks.
US passport, ability, and willingness to travel.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BS Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Material Science Engineering or equivalent experience required.
3 to 5 years" experience in Product Management, Engineering, or Applications.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical background - preferably with experience with technologies of assigned product lines
Attention to detail and being flexible to manage multiple tasks independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional organization and time management skills to meet goals and set priorities.
Proven ability to meet deadlines while performing tasks accurately.
Ability to work under pressure and still be effective.
Initiative-taking with a keen sense of ownership in all areas of responsibility.
