Effector Guidance Electronics Department (EGE) in Huntsville, AL is currently searching for a Product Development Engineer (PDE) with experience in circuit card/printed wiring board assembly, manufacturing, and the integrated assembly of electronic components into a subsystem.

The Product Development Engineer will support the Electrical Products design community as the affordability, manufacturability, and producibility expert for all Effector Programs.  Tasks include involvement in digital, analog, and RF design projects from initial bill-of-material selection through Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and subsystem assembly including resolution on all technical and supplier related issues. 

Throughout the product lifecycle the Product Development Engineer will follow our Integrated Product Development System to create an affordable, producible, and highly reliable design that meets the program’s delivery and milestone needs.

What You Will Do

  • Respond to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for input to the design process in areas such as materials selection, construction, layout, component selection and placement, design rule interpretation and application, and current Center of Excellence (COE) capabilities and practices.

  • Create development schedules/plans and ensure timely participation of relevant functions (Mechanical Engineering, ECAD, Parts Engineering, Planners, and Suppliers).

  • Facilitate the prototype development process, support the Producibility Engineering community, and participate in Gate Reviews

  • Provide assistance with identifying and developing key PCB/CCA supplier partners

  • Periodic travel to suppliers for assessments and product readiness reviews may be required

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior
    relevant experience

  • Experience to include at least 2 of the following:

  • PCB manufacturing

  • Circuit card manufacturing/assembly

  • Experience with IPC and MIL specifications and design guides


Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active Secret DoD security clearance

  • Knowledge and understanding of the PCB manufacturing and tooling process

  • Experience in PCB manufacturing and/or circuit card assembly

  • Experience understanding IPC and MIL specifications and design guides

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Detailed Circuit Card Assembly process knowledge and the ability to drive the component placement, component selection and material selection

  • Experience with alignment and collaboration between various disciplines within the Raytheon design community to achieve organizational and programmatic objectives

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
