POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Director of Product – Growth & Financial Products to lead product strategy and execution for initiatives that directly enable company growth, revenue expansion, and financial product innovation. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, go‑to‑market execution, and platform capabilities, ensuring that product investments unlock measurable business outcomes. This is a highly cross-functional leadership position focused on partnering with executive stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Operations, Partnerships, and Customer Experience to define and deliver scalable solutions that support growth initiatives. The Director will translate strategic priorities into clear business requirements and product direction, working closely with Technical Product Managers who own technical translation and engineering execution. In addition, this role carries some responsibility for building, managing, and developing a high performing product organization, ensuring the team operates with clear accountability, strong execution discipline, and a relentless focus on outcomes. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator with strong business acumen, deep experience in financial or revenue-driving products, and a proven ability to influence senior levels while building and leading high-performing product teams.

This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA, San Francisco, CA, with an in-office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote may be considered in exceptional cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Strategy & Execution

  • Define and own the product strategy for growth and financial products aligned with company objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities to drive revenue, margin expansion, and market differentiation.
  • Translate strategic initiatives into a clear product vision, roadmap, and prioritized investment areas.
  • Act as the connective layer between business strategy and product delivery.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and monetization models.
  • Ensure product strategy aligns with evolving market conditions and regulatory considerations, and business models.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Business Impact

  • Collaborate with Finance and GTM leaders to optimize customer acquisition, conversion, and lifetime value.
  • Define business requirements, success metrics, and user workflows for key initiatives.
  • Partner with Technical Product Management to translate requirements into execution-ready specifications.
  • Oversee a portfolio of initiatives, balancing short-term growth opportunities with long-term platform scalability.
  • Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to track product impact on revenue, efficiency, and customer outcomes.

Team Leadership & Organizational Management

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Product Managers, setting clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability standards.
  • Hire, onboard, and retain top talent, building a high-performing and scalable product organization.
  • Coach and mentor team members across both strategic thinking and execution discipline.
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and ways of working within the product team and across cross-functional partners.
  • Foster a strong product culture centered on ownership, impact, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior leadership on organizational design, resourcing, and capability building as the business scales.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or other related field with a minimum of 12+ years of professional work experience, including 8-10+ years of experience in Product Management, Strategy, or related roles.
  • Experience leading product strategy for growth initiatives, revenue platforms, or financial products.
  • Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect product strategy to company performance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and developing product teams.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage competing priorities, and deliver results under tight timelines. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in solar, clean energy, fintech, or adjacent industries.
