Job description

The Growth Product Manager is part of the Product Strategy & Development team within Enterprise Marketing and is responsible for managing product lifecycles, performing product planning activities, and supporting new product initiatives and enhancements for the company's market-facing, revenue-generating products. The incumbent will manage product performance, identify strategies to improve growth and profitability, develops product concepts, and contribute to business capability identification, positioning, and pricing. This role supports dental insurance products and other market-facing growth products and services within the Individual Segment portfolio, a strategic growth area focused on serving consumers seeking dental coverage, oral health solutions, and related services outside of traditional employer-sponsored benefits, while advancing the company's growth and customer acquisition objectives.

The Growth Product Manager partners with Regulatory, Legal, Actuarial, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Network, Technology, Onboarding, and Market Insights teams to support the development and execution of compliant, operationally feasible products that meet customer needs and business objectives.

Success in this role requires structured product thinking, customer and market insight, analytical rigor, cross-functional collaboration, and disciplined execution to advance product initiatives and enhancements. The incumbent contributes to product recommendations and execution while partnering with senior product leaders on broader portfolio priorities and complex initiatives.


  • Supports product planning and lifecycle management for Individual Segment products through performance analysis, customer and market insights, competitive intelligence, and roadmap development.
  • Drives assigned product enhancements and growth initiative, including ACA Marketplace, Direct-to-Consumer, and other market-facing offerings.
  • Develops product concepts, benefit designs, business cases, requirements, and supporting recommendations that improve customer value and business performance.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Regulatory, Legal, Actuarial, Market Insights, Sales, Marketing, Network, Technology, Operations, and Onboarding to develop, launch, and manage compliant, operationally feasible products.
  • Creates and maintains product requirements, benefit specifications, plan materials, and other supporting artifacts required for stakeholder review, cross-functional alignment, filing, implementation, and launch readiness.
  • Serves as a product subject matter expert, providing guidance on product strategy, benefit intent, sales enablement, and stakeholder education.
  • Monitors product performance and market dynamics, identifies opportunities for improvement, and recommends actions that balance growth, customer value, affordability, compliance, and profitability.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, product development, product marketing, or a related discipline is preferred. 5+ years preferred.
  • Experience managing market-facing, revenue-generating products or services.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management, product strategy, product planning, and product development principles.
  • Experience leading or supporting product planning, product development, product enhancements, or product lifecycle management activities.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to develop, launch, manage, or improve products and services.
  • Experience with individual, ACA Marketplace, dental, medical, vision, insurance, employee benefits, healthcare, or other regulated products and markets preferred.
  • Experience evaluating customer, market, competitive, or performance insights to identify growth opportunities and product improvements.
  • Experience with customer discovery, design thinking, business model canvas, value proposition design, stage gate, or other product development methodologies.
  • Ability to develop product recommendations informed by customer insights, market dynamics, business objectives, performance data, and operational considerations.
  • Ability to develop product strategies, benefit designs, business cases, and product requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and collaborate across teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, learning agility, and willingness to challenge assumptions while maintaining collaboration, accountability, and respect for partner ownership.


Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 21. $81,265 - $176,073
