Position: Product Engineer
About the Role:
We're looking for a versatile and driven Product Engineer to join our team and contribute across the full product lifecycle-from concept and design to launch and ongoing product line support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments, enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, and wants to make a direct impact on innovative product development.
Essential Functions:
New Product Development
  • Translate design input requirements into actionable engineering plans.
  • Lead engineering efforts for new product design, development, and prototyping.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, evaluate, and procure new equipment and technologies that enhance company capabilities through capital expenditure projects.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to define standardized workflows and support capable, efficient production processes.
  • Develop high-quality technical documentation and supporting materials to ensure successful product launches.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Business Development to define product requirements, timelines, and project plans.

Product Line Support
  • Maintain and update engineering documentation-including work instructions, SOPs, raw material purchase specifications and product specifications-for assigned product lines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design integrity, quality, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.
  • Produce engineered CAD drawings as needed.
  • Support customers by addressing application-related technical questions.

General Responsibilities
  • Apply standard engineering processes, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned product lines, providing technical guidance and cross-functional support.
  • Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, equipment, and tools to enhance processes, expand capabilities, and enable innovative product development.

Competencies:
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working within ISO 9000 - Design Control or similar quality systems.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and SPC tools such as Minitab.
  • Preferred experience in:
    • Product, mold and tool design using SolidWorks
    • 3D printing for rapid prototyping
    • SSGB, CMM, GD&T and FEA experience is a plus
