Job description

We are seeking a Process Engineer to support and improve the manufacturing processes within a polypropylene fiber and nonwoven production environment. This role will focus on optimizing production efficiency, improving product quality, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the development of customized fiber solutions for a wide range of industrial applications.
The Process Engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, quality, and product development teams to ensure consistent, reliable production while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nonwoven fiber manufacturing, polypropylene processing, or textile production processes, along with a hands-on approach to problem solving and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and improve polypropylene fiber and nonwoven production processes to ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze production data and key performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to fiber properties, process stability, equipment performance, and material consistency.
  • Work closely with production teams to support daily operations and resolve process related challenges on the production floor.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to support customized fiber solutions, including adjustments to denier, tenacity, elongation, fiber length, and other fiber properties.
  • Assist with scaling new products or formulations from development to full production.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and process stability.
  • Work with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and support preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet quality standards and support compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Document process improvements, technical findings, and operational procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff when implementing process changes or new product introductions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonwoven fiber manufacturing or textile production processes.
  • Experience working with polypropylene fiber processing, synthetic fiber manufacturing, or polymer-based materials is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience working directly with manufacturing teams in a production environment.
  • Ability to analyze production data and implement process improvements that improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, quality, and maintenance teams.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with synthetic fiber extrusion, spinning, crimping, or finishing processes.
  • Knowledge of polymer processing and fiber performance characteristics.
  • Experience supporting product development or customized material solutions.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies.

Key Competencies
  • Process optimization and troubleshooting
  • Manufacturing operations support
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Data driven decision making
  • Cross functional collaboration
