Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

In this role, the process engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and efficiency. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that processes meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations. The process engineer is responsible for ensuring that products are designed for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality. A strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with various engineering tools is essential for success in this position.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
  • Proven experience in product design, manufacturing, or process engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, product development processes, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, process simulation tools, and other engineering software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Collaborate with product development teams to ensure that product designs are aligned with manufacturing capabilities and requirements.
  • Optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase product quality.
  • Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce production costs.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure that materials and components meet quality and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to create tooling and fixtures that support production needs.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks for the design and modification of process layouts.
  • Implement vision inspection systems to ensure product quality meets ISO 9001 standards.
  • Work with robotics technology to automate processes where applicable.
  • Provide technical support for production teams, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Document process changes and maintain accurate records of engineering modifications.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and quality control procedures.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing problems.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement quality control measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support product launches and transitions to production, providing technical expertise and support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
