Tech 2, Product Development Engineering | Covington, Georgia, United States Tech 2, Product Development Engineering - R&D Lab Technician II Covington, GA | $30/hr | M-F 8am-5pm | In-Office | Contractor About the Role Join a dynamic R&D team advancing medical device innovation in urology and critical care. As a Tech 2, Product Development Engineering, you'll play a hands-on role in developing, testing, and refining next-generation capital equipment. This in-person position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with engineers, gain exposure to cutting-edge lab technologies, and directly impact product improvement and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities - Assemble, build, and troubleshoot prototype systems, pumps, and electro-mechanical equipment - Set up, execute, and document engineering and lab tests using industry-standard methods - Support development activities with platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and LabVIEW - Maintain, calibrate, and verify readiness of lab instrumentation (multimeters, sensors, oscilloscopes) - Identify and resolve issues in mechanical, electrical, and fluidic systems - Assist in creating and refining test methods, fixtures, and data acquisition systems - Accurately record test data, observations, and technical findings - Collaborate with engineering teams on product improvements and investigations - Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards Required Skills and Experience - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field - 2+ years' hands-on technical lab, prototyping, or R&D experience - Experience with capital equipment systems (pumps, motors, automated systems) - Skill in mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and fluid systems - Familiarity with electronics, sensors, and data acquisition - Basic computer proficiency (Excel, data entry, documentation) - Strong problem-solving ability and independent work ethic Preferred Skills - Exposure to Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or LabVIEW - Experience with test method development and fixture design - Advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and fluidic systems Benefits - Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge medical device technology - Work in a collaborative, innovative environment with direct engineer interaction - Build skills that support career progression in R&D, product development, and engineering - Competitive pay rate and consistent weekday schedule - Opportunity to contribute to products impacting patient care How to Apply Ready to advance your R&D career?
