Job description

Position Summary

The Engineering & Product Design Manager will lead and actively engage in the day-to-day operations of the Diamond Vision Systems Division (DVD). This role is responsible for engineering coordination with overseas factories, system design for the installation of the products and divisional quality initiatives.

This position requires a hands-on leader and strategic problem solver who actively engages in technical challenges, works closely with engineering staff, and contributes directly to resolving complex engineering issues.

What Youll Do

  • Lead Engineering Operations: Direct Engineering activities ensuring alignment with division objectives, project execution, and customer commitments.
  • Work Shoulder-to-Shoulder with Engineers: Serve as a hands-on technical leader, partnering directly with engineers to contribute to system designs, review designs, and solve complex problems in real time; not just assigning work.
  • Drive Technical Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis efforts and guide the resolution of complex engineering challenges to improve product and system performance, reliability, and quality.
  • Drive Supplier Sourcing & Quality: Oversee division quality programs and engineering initiatives including leading supplier selection, development, and performance management, while actively participating in technical discussions, design reviews, and acceptance testing
  • Act as Global Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between the Division and overseas manufacturing partners to drive continuous improvement on product and system designs.
  • Strengthen Product Development Execution: In coordination with overseas factories, identify and implement improvements in engineering processes, product design, and development strategies.
  • Resolve Advanced System Issues: Support the resolution of complex product, system, and warranty challenges, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
  • Develop & Lead Talent: Manage Engineering personnel in accordance with company policies; recruit, train, cross-train, mentor employees; conduct performance reviews; and provide compensation input.
  • Support Business & Market Efforts: Contribute technical expertise to marketing initiatives and customer engagements, helping translate engineering capability into business value.
