Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for all aspects of the product development process with specific focus on drafting and laboratory product testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Utilize AutoCAD software to create 2D/3D window/door drawings on the computer.
  • Maintain and update drawing on a regular basis.
  • Prepare final drawings that incorporate dimensional checking, required materials, parts relationship, and visualization of entire project.
  • Assists in the analysis of research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposals.
  • Research and analysis of the competitor products based on Design Engineer specifications.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to support Design Engineer in the implementation of Product Development themes.
  • Coordinate and participate in installing test specimens for testing.
  • Monitor controls instruments and record test data for engineer's use.
  • Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject test item to successive steps in test cycle.
  • Examine parts for form/fit/function conformance with dimensional specifications.
  • Fabricate precision parts for test specimens or interpret specifications for the fabrication of parts.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Education/Experience:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited two-year college or technical school in Architectural Engineering Technology/Architectural Design plus 2 years related experience required; or bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college
  • Communication skills with an ability to develop collaborative relationships
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office applications
  • Applies basic engineering principles to troubleshoot technical issues and assist in developing practical solutions
  • Be vigilant about safety
  • Quality - conscious, oriented to excellence
