Job Summary
The Product Specialist will analyze the competitive environment and generate market solutions for a product portfolio, while managing the development of appliance projects to grow market share, revenue, and margin. The Product Specialist is responsible for portfolio analysis, product development projects, executing activities across the product lifecycle, recommending pricing and promotions and other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct competitive environment analysis including product benchmarking, pricing, placement
  • Conduct portfolio analysis and develop action plans to maximize market share, revenue, profitability, mix and operational efficiency of products
  • Manage the product lifecycle for gas grills, griddles and specialty items in the grilling portfolio.
  • Shape product roadmap and key project proposals with Director and Product Managers
  • Manage cross-functional teams during new product development and product line refreshes and extensions.
  • Partner with Omnichannel to identify market entry and support plans for direct-to-consumer, key customers, and other channels
  • Partner with Sales to develop and communicate high-quality presentations to customers
  • Develop effective sales materials, making it easy for retail store associates to understand our product offering and key positioning
  • Aid in annual planning analysis and budget development

Qualification Requirements
Minimum Education:
  • BA/BS degree preferred, Associates degree or equivalent experience required.

Minimum Experience
  • Consumer goods experience preferred (durables or consumables).
  • 2+ years experience in product development (marketing/engineering/product management).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of product development and commercialization processes
  • Analytical mindset and data-driven for business decisions
  • Solid communication skills, especially synthesizing complex problems and persuading other groups of your solution
  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional commercial teams
  • Project management skills and ability to track processes against milestones
  • High energy to drive results and manage change
  • BA/BS degree preferred, Associates degree or equivalent experience required
