The Role

The Product Engineer is a key member of the project team responsible for developing standardized products/solutions. Products include enclosures/booths, material handling systems, robotics, and environmental systems (industrial scale HVAC and filtration systems).

The Product Engineer works in partnership with designers and engineers to scope and execute design definition for new products as well as updates for existing products. The Product Engineer leads the supporting design team to achieve desired outcomes. The successful candidate will be accountable for deliverables from quality, timing, and cost perspectives.

The successful candidate will:


  • Set and hold company standards for design and documentation.
  • Take ownership in developing products and associated documentation.
  • Engage cross functionally to ensure alignment of schematic, mechanical, and electrical designs.
  • Identify/apply requirements, codes, standards, & best practices (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISO, OSHA).
  • Support prototype development and assist in resolving manufacturing issues & implement DFMA opportunities.

Skills/Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of progressive experience or >12 years relevant experience
  • Mechanical Design using 3D CAD systems (preferably SolidWorks). Strong understanding of mechanical drafting standards, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, & drawing conventions. Experience managing Bills of Materials.
  • Design automation tools and best practices. CadLink and/or Driveworks experience a plus.
  • Mechanical Engineering: FEA, CFD, hand calculations, schematic design/P&ID development, analysis, requirements management, and value engineering experience.
  • Leadership, teamwork, mentorship
  • Prior exposure to PLM, PDM, & gated design processes
  • Experience with any disciplined & structured design processes such as machinery / mechanism design, civil structures, pressure vessels, HVAC products, or work cell automation.
  • SolidWorks certificate or other relevant continuing education a plus
  • Professional Engineering License a plus
