Gen Bus 210 (AI-Enabled Business Solutions Lab) is a 2-credit course taken by all Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students at the Wisconsin School of Business. Its goals are to prepare students for real client engagements and to provide guided learning experiences leveraging AI to deliver value for clients. Emphasizing "learning by doing," the course develops skills in consulting, project management, and applied AI through carefully controlled engagements with AI-simulated clients: some engagements focus on scoping a problem and delivering actionable, data-driven recommendations, while others focus on designing, building, and testing digital solution prototypes using AI-assisted tools. This "lab-to-field" approach advances the School's position as a leader in AI-enabled experiential learning.
The Lecturer plays a central role on the instructional team to design and deliver this course for all BBA students - facilitating hands-on labs, lectures, demonstrations, and discussions; guiding students through simulated client engagements; and assessing student projects, presentations, and online learning modules. The role requires exceptional classroom facilitation skills, fluency with AI tools, and the ability to translate theory into applied practice. The annual instructional load is 18 credits (number of credits is determined based on Full Time Equivalent (FTE)).
While focused on Gen Bus 210, this position resides in the Operations and Information Management (OIM) department, and the Lecturer may also teach related courses - such as project management, product management, business analytics, technology strategy, or cybersecurity - as appropriate to their qualifications and department needs.
The Lecturer will join the OIM Department, where we integrate technology and operations to lead better organizations. Our vibrant faculty bring both world-class research and deep practitioner expertise into the classroom - research spanning areas such as digital platforms, health care, AI, supply chains, and sustainability, and practitioner backgrounds in areas such as product management, consulting, supply chain management, analytics, and business process improvement. We offer three undergraduate majors - Operations and Technology Management, Supply Chain Management, and Information Systems - as well as an MS in Supply Chain Management and a PhD program. We also have a strong presence in the MS in Business Analytics program, the MBA programs, and the Consulting Certificate. The department is also home to two centers founded on the principles of cross-functional perspectives and industry engagement: the Erdman Center for Operations and Technology Management, focused on technology strategy and product management, and the Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management. Both centers play a central role in our MBA programs. The Erdman Center also runs our Certificate in Product Management, and the Grainger Center anchors our Supply Chain Management major and MS in Supply Chain Management.
