What is product design and development?

Product design and development is the process of creating new products or improving existing ones to meet customer needs and market demands. It involves several stages, including idea generation, conceptualization, design, prototyping, testing, and final production. Professionals in this field work collaboratively to ensure the product is functional, aesthetically pleasing, cost-effective, and manufacturable. The goal is to deliver a product that solves a problem or fulfills a need while aligning with business objectives.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Product Design and Development, and how can they be addressed?

A common challenge in Product Design and Development is balancing innovative ideas with practical constraints such as budget, timelines, and manufacturing capabilities. Professionals often need to collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, and production teams to ensure that designs are both feasible and aligned with market needs. Clear communication, iterative prototyping, and user testing are essential practices to navigate these challenges successfully. Embracing feedback and remaining flexible during the development process can help teams deliver products that are both creative and market-ready.

· Familiarity with DFMA principles and tolerance stack analysis

· Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards

· Experience with metal fabrication and plastic manufacturing processes

· Passion for hands-on design, building, or mechanical hobbies/projects

Why Join Us?

· Work on innovative fitness products used worldwide

· Collaborate with global engineering and manufacturing teams

· Gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle

· Opportunity to influence product design from concept to production
