Job description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the system/structure design, development, validation, and optimization of North American Range products.
  2. Lead the structural design for new Range platforms and new products, ensuring compliance with mechanical safety, reliability, durability, performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements for the North American market.
  3. Collaborate with R&D project teams, working closely with electrical, electronics, software, industrial design, testing, manufacturing, and procurement teams to resolve issues during product development, pilot production, and mass production phases.
  4. Review and approve design drawings, BOM costs, tooling solutions, and other related documentation.
  5. Provide technical support for Range product certifications (UL, CSA, NSF, etc.).


Qualifications:

Education Background:
Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Product Design, or related fields.


Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of structural design and development experience for North American home appliance products.
  • 5+ years of System/structure development experience of North American Range productswith experience in leading or serving as a core team member to complete at least 3 mass-produced product development projects for the North American market.

Professional Skills:

  1. Proficient in North American Home Appliance Safety and Performance Standards: Deep understanding and mastery of UL 858 series, CSA standards.
  2. Proficient in CAD modeling software (such as UG, PRO/E, SolidWorks, etc.) .
  3. Proficient in Materials and Mold Process: knowledge of engineering plastics for home appliances (PP, ABS, PC, PA, etc.), metal materials (steel sheets, aluminum, stainless steel), and related mold and forming processes (injection molding, sheet metal stamping, extrusion, die casting, welding).
  4. Understanding of simulation analysis (such as ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation for structural strength, stiffness, modal, drop, fatigue, etc.), with strong structural failure analysis capabilities.
  5. Familiar with Product Certification and Testing: Proficient in relevant certification standards (such as UL 858 series, CSA series, NSF/ANSI standards, etc.), as well as product performance and safety testing methods and standards.
  6. Market Understanding: Understanding of North American Range product characteristics, North American consumer lifestyle, habits, and aesthetic preferences and their impact on product design.
