How much do produce stocking jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 13, 2026, the average hourly pay for produce stocking in the United States is $16.57, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $14.90 and $18.51 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

Produce stocking jobs typically do not pay $10,000 a month; high earnings in this field are uncommon without additional roles or management positions. To reach such income levels, individuals often need experience, specialized skills, or move into supervisory or logistics management roles in the supply chain industry, which may require relevant certifications or extensive experience.

What stocking job pays the most?

In produce stocking, roles such as department supervisors or managers typically earn the highest wages, often supplemented by bonuses or overtime pay. These positions require experience, leadership skills, and sometimes certifications, and they generally pay more than entry-level stocking positions. Compensation varies by employer and location but can range from $15 to $25 per hour or more for supervisory roles.

What are some common challenges faced by produce stockers, and how can they be managed effectively?

Produce stockers often encounter challenges such as keeping up with high customer demand during peak hours, maintaining the freshness and quality of perishable items, and managing heavy lifting or repetitive tasks. Effective time management, frequent rotation of stock, and clear communication with team members can help manage these challenges. Additionally, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining an organized workspace contribute to a smoother workflow and ensure the department runs efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Produce Stocker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Produce Stocker, you need basic inventory management skills, attention to detail, and the physical ability to lift and move products, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, barcode scanners, and inventory tracking tools is typically required. Strong communication, reliability, and customer service skills help you interact effectively with team members and shoppers. These skills ensure produce displays are well-stocked, fresh, and appealing, directly impacting customer satisfaction and store efficiency.

What are produce stocking jobs?

Produce stocking jobs involve replenishing, organizing, and maintaining the fresh fruits and vegetables section in grocery stores or supermarkets. Workers in this role are responsible for ensuring that produce displays are full, attractive, and meet safety and quality standards. Duties also include rotating stock to maintain freshness, removing damaged or expired items, and assisting customers with questions about produce. Attention to cleanliness and food safety is essential in this position.

What jobs pay $400 an hour?

Jobs that pay $400 an hour are typically highly specialized roles such as experienced surgeons, top-tier legal professionals, certain executive consultants, or specialized contractors in fields like cybersecurity or software development. These positions often require advanced skills, extensive experience, and certifications, and they may involve freelance or consulting work with flexible schedules.
