Job description

Get Fresh Produce started in 1982 as a retail produce store in Chicago, specializing in premium fresh fruit, vegetables, specialty foods, and dairy. Get Fresh is supported by an amazing team of sales, customer service, procurement, and operations professionals. Get Fresh Produce executes distribution of more than 13 million cases annually to 3,000 customers.

We base everything we do on ‘Fresh Thinking’. This means constantly seeking to work more efficiently, creatively, and meticulously to meet our customers’ needs. We work every day to drive consistency in the areas most important to our customers: Customer Service, Quality, Food, Safety, Reporting, Technology.

Essential Functions:

  • Increase customer sales in accordance with objectives.• Prospect assigned territories for new sales leads.
  • Implement seasonal resets in customer produce departments.
  • Direct, teach, and implement the building of special produce displays.
  • Supply and educate customers and produce managers with point of sale and point of purchase materials.
  • Coordinate with outside and inside reps on budget, gross profit, sales, and strategic goals for Indianapolis Fruit.
  • Conduct annual customer reviews, including category review, product performance, SKU additions & reductions, and seasonal sales planning.
  • Complete all ordering and pricing in a timely manner

Competencies, Education, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent plus related specialized coursework and at least 1 year of successful fresh produce wholesale or retail sales or related management experience.
  • Proficient skills in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common e-mail systems
  • Hold a valid driver’s license Maintain insurability on company’s commercial auto insurance program
  • Must be able to speak and write fluently in English Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred
  • Intellectual horsepower (highly analytical & strategic)
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills (high EQ)
  • Influencing skills (proven ability to persuade others towards an idea or goal)
  • Negotiation skills (proven ability to seek and close the right deals)

Physical Demands:

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Travel as needed and required
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs

Compensation:

  • OTE $ 70-150 K+ per year based on experience/performance: uncapped commissions

Work Schedule:

  • Monday – Sunday (Off on Saturday and one day during the week).
  • Hours: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm
  • 40 hours/week (OT maybe required)
