Produce - Grocery Team Member
We have Openings at both our E17th Ave and E Colfax Ave Locations
OVERVIEW

Marczyk Fine Foods prides itself on being a world class neighborhood market from the everyday to the exotic, weve curated a diverse and delicious selection of products for our customers. The ProGro Team Member will ensure that the sales floor in our market is fully and beautifully stocked with the highest quality produce in Denver. The ProGro Team Members play an essential role in delivering excellence and consistency in service to our customers each day by actively engaging with them, providing assistance, making recommendations, and using sampling to drive sales. ProGro Team Members must also be able to perform all the duties of a Cashier. While experience is always appreciated, we hire for attitude and aptitude while training for excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITES
  • Builds full, beautiful, and shop-able displays and maintains stock levels on displays
  • Stores product properly both when closing the department at night as well as in back-stock to maintain freshness
  • Continually assesses quality of product by look, taste, touch, and smell
  • Takes appropriate action on items that are deemed to be poor quality
  • When stocking deliveries to the floor, ensures best practices for product care are followed with fidelity
  • Maintains high level of organization on the sales floor and back stock areas
  • Ensures that every product has proper signage and is properly placed in the designated position
  • Maximizes time spent on the sales floor to engage with customers
  • Enthusiastically and spontaneously sample products to customers
  • Listens to customer requests/feedback and communicates that to the General Manager
  • Completes tasks with a strong sense of urgency and efficiency in movement
  • Follows waste tracking and reporting systems
  • Involved in conducting and maintaining Marczyk Perpetual Inventory System
  • Assists the Product Flow Manager in evaluating quality of fresh items and efficiently loading carts of product in the back room as deliveries are processed
  • Responsible for cleanliness in all areas of the department including equipment. Participates in occasional merchandise case and large-scale cleaning projects
  • Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all food and work safety guidelines as mandated by local and state health departments as well as Marczyks food and work safety policies
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to repetitively lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time
  • Constant arm, hand, and wrist motion
  • Comfortable with handling knives and box cutters
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience in Retail, Produce, and/or Customer Service preferred
  • General produce knowledge of standard items, seasonality and preparation preferred
  • Personable, positive, infectious, confident, and engaging
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment
  • Excellent basic math skills
  • Prioritizes tasks appropriately and can re-prioritize with ease
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
