Another Source's client, Sabey Data Centers is recruiting a Director of Procurement to join their team. This role can be located in Tukwila, Washington or Austin, Texas or Ashburn, Virginia.

This newly created role comes at an important moment for Sabey Data Centers as the organization continues to support operations across all campuses while scaling for long-term growth. About this role

The Director of Procurement leads and governs the purchasing and procurement functions for Sabey Data Center Operations. This role is responsible for driving sourcing strategy, supplier performance, contract governance, cost optimization, inventory and logistics, and supply chain continuity in support of operational reliability and long-term growth.

Reporting to the Vice President, Business Operations, this leader will partner closely with Construction, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and executive leadership to ensure procurement practices align with company strategy and support uptime, financial accountability, and scalable expansion across Sabey's campuses.

How you will spend your time

    Lead enterprise-wide sourcing and purchasing strategy aligned with company growth objectives
  • Provide leadership and oversight for sourcing activities across regions and departments through management of the procurement team
  • Build category strategies for critical data center packages, including generators, HV/MV electrical, UPS, and other mission-critical infrastructure
  • Oversee major sourcing initiatives, competitive bid processes, and contract negotiations
  • Ensure purchasing practices support operational uptime, capital planning, and scalability
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement and purchasing performance and cost discipline
  • Oversee logistics strategy to support timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment across all campuses
  • Ensure alignment between suppliers, construction, and operations to protect project schedules and uptime
  • Provide oversight of inventory management practices to maintain appropriate stock levels for critical materials
  • Improve visibility into lead times, inventory levels, and material planning to support operational continuity and expansion
  • Oversee strategic supplier relationships and executive-level negotiations
  • Strengthen supplier performance management through KPIs, scorecards, structured reviews, corrective actions, and dispute resolution
  • Ensure vendor compliance documentation and contractual requirements are maintained
  • Diversify supplier base where appropriate to reduce concentration risk
  • Integrate procurement risk management into broader operational risk frameworks
  • Monitor purchasing variances and financial controls in coordination with Accounting
  • Oversee ERP procurement functionality, including Yardi, and contract management systems
  • Drive enhancements to procurement technology, reporting tools, automation processes, and AI-enabled workflows
  • Ensure consistent documentation standards and workflow discipline across regions
  • Improve executive visibility through dashboards and performance reporting
  • Lead and develop Procurement and Purchasing Managers
  • Partner with Engineering and Design, Construction Project Managers, and Operations Directors to align sourcing strategies with technical requirements and expansion initiatives

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or related field, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing procurement teams
  • Experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives and large-scale contract negotiations
  • Experience working in complex operational environments such as data centers, real estate, construction, or critical facilities
  • ERP experience required, Yardi experience strongly preferred
  • Strong executive leadership capability, with the ability to set direction, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational alignment
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate growth objectives into effective procurement strategy
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling, budget integration, and total cost analysis
  • Enterprise risk management mindset with the ability to mitigate supply chain and contractual risk
  • Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams and future leaders
  • Excellent executive-level communication skills and high professional integrity
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn and utilize AI tools and technology

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $128,283 - $192,425 DOE.
