Logistics Coordinator/ Purchasing

Client: Refinery
Location: Meraux, La
Duration: 1 year and could go longer
Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, 401K, Paid Time Off
Schedule: 5-8's and in TA 60 hour weeks and some weekend work may be necessary
Software utilized: SAP
Position Summary
Logistics Coordinator to support day-to-day logistics, procurement, warehouse, and laydown yard operations within a refinery environment. This is a hands-on field/office position requiring someone who is comfortable working in a refinery or industrial setting and understands the coordination required between field operations, warehouse personnel, vendors, and project teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience with SAP procurement processes, purchase orders, requisitions, material coordination, and vendor communication. This position will also have opportunities to expand responsibilities into equipment rentals and broader logistics coordination.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily logistics activities between the field, warehouse, laydown yard, procurement, vendors, and project personnel.
  • Support warehouse and laydown yard operations, including receiving, tracking, organizing, and coordinating materials and equipment.
  • Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders (POs) in SAP.
  • Enter, track, and maintain procurement transactions and documentation within SAP.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, availability, delivery schedules, and required documentation.
  • Coordinate the timely delivery of materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to support refinery operations and project activities.
  • Monitor outstanding purchase orders and requisitions and follow up with vendors as needed.
  • Assist field personnel with material and logistical requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, equipment, deliveries, and procurement activities.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure materials are properly received, identified, stored, and issued.
  • Support laydown yard organization and inventory control.
  • Transition into and support equipment rental coordination, including rental requests, vendor communication, scheduling, tracking, and returns.
  • Assist with resolving delivery, material, procurement, and equipment issues.
  • Ensure logistics and procurement activities are performed in accordance with company procedures and refinery/site requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with project management, field supervision, warehouse personnel, procurement teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a refinery, petrochemical, industrial, construction, or similar warehouse/field environment preferred.
  • Experience working around warehouse operations and laydown yards.
  • Working knowledge of SAP procurement processes.
  • Experience creating and managing purchase orders and purchase requisitions.
