We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team at K&A Power Group in Hartford, CT. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:
  • Coordinating internal and external resources to support project scope. These resources include the following, which are included but not limited to:
    • Engineering
    • Outage Planning
    • Site and Permitting
    • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Scheduling
    • Safety
    • Cost Analysis
    • Project Closeout
    • Procurement
    • Contract Administration
    • Field operations/inspections
  • Driving project schedule, managing scope, and controlling project costs
  • Assisting with the execution and development of project siting requirements, which may involve site applications, petitions, development and management plans, and other applicable siting documents
  • Administering/reviewing/developing the following items:
    • RFIs
    • Submittals
    • Desktop requisitions
    • Invoice review & approval
    • Change orders/Change Management
  • Conducting reoccurring team meetings with leads from each project function, including action item tracking and coordination of follow up on outstanding items. The focus of these meetings will naturally shift to construction phase execution.
  • Establishing and coordinating change management. This includes tracking the status and reporting on change management with Owner, as well as participating and/or facilitating change management negotiations and discussions with Owner's contractors and suppliers.
  • Working with Owner to administer contracts on Owner's paper for construction phase owner supplied materials and construction services, as well as any remaining preconstruction work scope.
  • Coordinating between material and equipment vendors and construction contractors
  • Developing and reviewing technical bid documents
  • Leading contractor pre-bid meetings alongside Eversource project team
  • Preparing presentations to applicable project stakeholders
  • Providing requirements and inputs for basis of contract negotiations
  • Preparing and presenting project cost sheets to Owner executive management
  • Reporting regularly on project progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential project impacts.
  • Support the integration and use of E-Builder
  • Support Storm/ERP support as required

What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management discipline preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • 20+ years of relevant project management experience in large-scale utility projects
  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools
  • Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires sitting, standing and general movement throughout the office area.
  • Limited travel will be required between office, project sites, and stakeholder locations.
  • Work will require visiting field construction sites including high voltage substations and utility Rights-of-Way.
  • Attends to problems in off-hours and for extended periods, if necessary. Will also be assigned a storm/incident response role.

Pay Range $140,000๏ฟฝ$160,000/year
