About the Role
 
Gardiner & Theobald is passionate about providing a world class service to our clients. In support of this aim, we are currently recruiting new Procurement Consultants/ Managers for projects within the infrastructure industry. Working within multi-sector teams and supporting procurement activities, successful candidates will be given the chance to work on some of the most integral projects and programmes that will shape the future of our economy and planet while having the opportunity to develop their leadership skills both on projects and within the team. The ideal candidate will be MCIPS or MRICS chartered, client focused and confident with experience working in a consultancy environment on similar projects.
 
With a commitment to continuous improvement and lifelong learning G&T will enable you to achieve your goals, both professionally and personally. As an Procurement Consultant/ Manager  you will have a hand in the development of G&T as a business, building relationships externally and internally and playing a part in recruiting new talent and support work winning opportunities. You will have a large presence on projects, taking ownership of projects while also managing junior colleagues responsible to you for service delivery.   
  • Degree qualified -  within a construction related discipline
  • MRICS, MCIPS or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience leading multiple procurements of complex construction and infrastructure projects under Public Contract Regulations from early market engagement through to contract award
  • Confident in managing multiple projects and continuously delivering excellent outcomes.
  • Work with multiple project stakeholders to understand key objectives, risks and opportunities and recommend delivery models, routes to market and commercial and contracting strategies that align with client goals and industry standards
  • Engage with the market to identify and analyse key trends, appetite, opportunities and risks and feed insights into the client organisation
  • Identify areas of improvement or innovation and share best practice and lessons learned. 
  • Experience in a range of standard form contracts including FIDIC and NEC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Previous experience within a consultancy, or knowledge of the consultancy model.
  • Confident in managing others and delegating tasks whilst meeting deadlines, ensuring work and projects are running on time and to budget. 
  • Client focused, dedicated to fostering close relationships with clients, resolving issues and exceeding client expectations in the pursuit of providing a world class service
  • Business development experience preferred
