Location: Washington, DC

Direct Counsel is seeking a Government Contracts Associate to join the nationally recognized Government Contracts and Public Procurement Practice Group of a premier global law firm in Washington, DC. This is an exceptional opportunity for a junior or mid-level associate to work on sophisticated government contracts litigation, counseling, compliance, and transactional matters for clients across a broad range of industries.

The practice advises leading companies on complex public procurement issues, regulatory compliance, bid protests, investigations, cybersecurity matters, and government contract aspects of corporate transactions. Attorneys in this group work closely with experienced practitioners on cutting-edge matters involving federal and state procurement laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on a wide range of government contracts and public procurement matters
  • Handle government contracts litigation, including bid protests and contract-related disputes
  • Counsel clients on compliance with federal and state procurement regulations
  • Assist with internal investigations, audits, and enforcement matters
  • Advise on cybersecurity, technology licensing, and regulatory compliance issues affecting government contractors
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and transactional matters involving government contracts considerations
  • Draft memoranda, pleadings, protest filings, compliance policies, and client advisories
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance on procurement and regulatory issues

Qualifications
