Job description

Grassland Dairy Products, Inc. is expanding, and with that growth comes opportunity. We’re looking for a Procurement Associate to support our Financial Quality Control and Procurement Manager and help keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently.

The Procurement Associate will act as support staff to the Financial Quality Control and Procurement Manager and must be extremely detail oriented and highly organized. This position is responsible for managing levels of supply inventories associated with plant operations at multiple plants; daily monitoring of packaging levels, procurement, and coordination with logistics to ensure timely delivery of packaging items to meet production needs. This person will be expected to identify and analyze issues to minimize procurement related business disruptions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor supply inventory levels for multiple facilities
  • Interact with sales, accounting, transportation, and other procurement team members to identify and meet the ongoing supply needs of the business
  • Minimize procurement related business disruptions by identifying issues, analyzing the root cause, and modifying procedures to fix the issues going forward
  • Ensure quality over financial transactions
  • Analyze inventory usage and ordering patterns to maximize inventory turns and attain high volume pricing on orders
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned
