Dewberry is seeking a Procurement Assistant/Buyer in our corporate headquarters located in Fairfax VA. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the selected candidate will support the procurement team by managing procurement tasks, tracking inventory, consulting with vendors, and assisting in product selection and pricing strategies. The Buyer shall conduct business in accordance with the standard operating procedures of this organization and/or in accordance with company best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and review requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and clarity
  • Conduct market research for assigned commodities and identify potential suppliers
  • Perform initial evaluation and screening of potential suppliers
  • Prepare purchase orders in accordance with procurement policies
  • Oversee Dewberry supplier's portals (review and approve orders entered, etc.)
  • Monitor and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve delays
  • Manage discrepancies during the receiving process, including 2/3-way matching
  • Reconcile invoices and coordinate with Accounts Payable as needed
  • Provide ERP user assistance and support for ERP system training
  • Oversee and manage special projects assigned
  • Supports day-to-day procurement activities

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing or related field preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and practices
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint a plus
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and maintain mindfulness

Salary Range
The projected range for this position is $45,000-$58,000 annually in our Fairfax, VA office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
